A beautiful piece of early 19th century history, this incredible biscuit jar can be dated by the three mold lines that appear every time the pattern repeats. Made between 1810-1840, this piece was made by one of the hundreds of glass manufacturers in the Eastern US and Midwest, who began making flint glass everyday objects such as this "original cookie jar." The removable lid to this biscuit jar also shows mold lines and  repeats pattern from the body of the piece all the way to the knob at the top of the lid. Small air pockets in the glass are also credit to the age of this piece.
