Pechaubes was born in Pantin, near Paris on 24 June 1890. As a French painter his work often depicted scenes from his surroundings, capturing the french culture and essence of the Parisian lifestyle. He gained notoriety for his paintings of military themes during Napoleon'’s French Empire, and later achieved recognition for his horse racing, polo, and foxhunting paintings. He worked in oil and watercolor and was also an engraver.  His paintings have appeared in exhibited and auction sales all around Europe and the United States of America. His pictures have been auctioned right up to the current time in all the major auction houses. Pechaubes died on 2 February 1967.

This drawing, done in a masterful chalk and crayon, is in great condition, with a clear signature in the corner. While this item would be a great gift for anyone with a polo team, or a love of the sport, this piece is also an amazing find for the Pechchaubes collector. Showing his skill as an artist and his love for horses, this piece makes a great illustration for why his fame and work have continued on more than 40 years after his death.
